This Help panel is Moderator-only. Runners on the public page just drop in their run.txt, confirm it verifies, and click Submit for Verification — no separate instructions needed there.
Reviewing a submission — Click a row in the Moderator Queue below to open it. This re-runs the exact same Hash Chain / Splits / Sandbox / Mod List verification shown here against that submission's own stored run.txt — you're looking at the authentic file the Runner submitted, not a summary. A Runner's own Verification Key (shown on their in-game timer, and required in their speedrun.com submission description) is what links a Queue entry to its speedrun.com page — cross-check the two before Approving.
Upload Run File — You can also drop any run.txt (or events.log, if a Runner never clicked Export) directly onto the page yourself, independent of the Queue, for a one-off check. This verifies the Hash Chain and shows the Run's Splits, Sandbox Settings, and Mod List.
Upload Reference Files (Optional) — Drop in the DeadSplit folder from your own copy of the Mod (Located at SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\[WORKSHOPID]). The correct Folder is the Folder containing 42\media... & common\media... This lets you compare the Fingerprint embedded in a Run against a verified clean copy, to check whether the Runner attempted to modify or tamper with DeadSplit's code. Load it once and it applies to every submission you open afterward, whether from the Queue or a one-off upload.
Results appear in the Fingerprint card: "Setup vs Export" compares the Fingerprint taken at the start of the Run against the one taken when it was exported (catches someone reverting changes before exporting); "Setup vs Reference" and "Export vs Reference" only appear once a reference Folder is loaded, and compare against your verified copy. Each shows a green MATCH or a red difference count with the specific files listed.
World Record Verification — When an eligible completed Run is loaded, select Validate World Record at the bottom of the results. Confirm the Record Holder Name and UTC Date in the window.
To preserve existing records, select Load Existing WorldRecords.txt and choose the current File from Zomboid\Lua\DeadSplit. The verifier updates this Run's Category while keeping every other Category unchanged. If the loaded File already contains a faster or equal time, the verifier asks for confirmation before replacing it.
If no existing File is loaded, Generate & Download creates a new WorldRecords.txt containing only the displayed record. Place the downloaded file in Zomboid\Lua\DeadSplit, replacing the existing file when applicable. DeadSplit Users will need to Download the exported WorldRecords.txt file and replace their existing file in Zomboid/Lua/DeadSplit
